The Black History Month Art Show kicks off a month-long art exhibit celebrating the work of emerging and established BIPOC artists from the McKinney and Collin County areas.
The McKinney Chamber Foundation is excited to announce the 2023 Call for Artists for the Annual Black History Month Art Exhibit. BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) artists from the Collin County area and beyond are encouraged to submit their work. Select works remain on display at the event and throughout the month of February 2023 at the McKinney Performing Arts Center Gallery.
Artwork may be of any media, and submissions are open for both emerging & established artists. Artwork should reflect the artist’s consideration of the 2023 McKinney Black History Month theme, “Stories of Grit and Perseverance,” and its meaning within Black culture.
A jury of art professionals will review the entries, and the artwork accepted for the show must be delivered to the McKinney Performing Art Center by the artist or representative. All work should be ready to hang (2D) or ready to display (3D).
Deadline to apply is January 21, 2023.
